Die unglaubliche Vielfalt der Böden und die Mosaik der Rebsorten machen aus diesem Gebiet im Herzen von 3 großen Ursprungsbezeichnungen ein „Weinbergziel“ par excellence: AOC Saint Chinian, AOC Minervois und AOC vom Languedoc sowie viele Landweine.

Um die Geheimnisse zu lüften, kommen Sie in die Weinkeller der Erzeuger, nehmen Sie an den Weinbergwanderungen oder an den Verkostungswerkstätten teil oder begegnen Sie die Weinbauer für „ein Gläschen am Wasser“ bei der außerordentlichen Kulisse des Canal du Midi dienstags oder donnerstags am Abend von Juni bis September im Hafen von Capestang.

Domaine Comps (Puisserguier )

In the heart of the medieval village of Puisserguier, Domaine Martin-Comps is a must for visitors.  The Comps family have been winegrowers for many generations.  Wine-related paintings by local artists are on show in the wine cellar. They produce a wide range of wines, from Vins de Pays to AOC Saint Chinian, many of which have won several prizes and appear in the Guide Hachette.

Château de Sériège (Cruzy)

Château de Sériège - 34310 Cruzy

This authentic Languedoc Castle is nestled between the Black Mountain and the Mediterranean Sea, parting on the ways of the appellations Saint Chinian and Minervois and on the banks of the Canal du Midi. The Sériège Castle used to be the property of the Vicompte de Narbonne until the 13th Century. The domain of Sériège features more than 100 hectares of vineyards aged from 3 to 80.Since 2003, the domain has been managed by Barthélémy d’Andoque de Sériège.

Domaine Fonvieille (Poilhes)

The vineyards of the Domaine de Fonvieille cover 60 hectares in the communes of Montouliers, a 13th Century village and Poilhes, a charming village on the canal du Midi near the Gallo-Roman site of Ensérune. They own more vines  on Capestang's alluvial plain; others are planted on the Pech, hillside overlooking the canal du Midi.  The family property was developed towards the end of the 19th Century, but the first vines were acquired in 1760. Mme Fonvielle (wife of M. Joyeux) started bottling the wine in 1978 and the wines of the domain rapidly became prizewinners in the most prestigious agricultural shows : Paris, Mâcon.

Mas de Cynanque (Cruzy)

The Mas de Cynanque stands on a beautiful hillside of red earth in the heart of the Saint Chinian appellation.  The Cynanque flower is the Mas's emblem and it was a symbol of purity, maternity and protection for the Egyptians.  The domaine covers 14 hectares and its  first wines  were produced  in 2004.  Most of the vines are old and of the traditional varieties : Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan.  The vines are cultivated with great respect for the environment, the vines and the grapes and almost everything is done by hand.

Domaine de la Provenquière (Capestang)

The Château de la Provenquière dates from the XVth Century.  The domaine's name comes from that of the first owner, Jean Provenquier, which was feminized according to local tradition.  In the XVIIIth Century la Provenquière passed into the hands of the Marquis de Puisserguier, whose family stemmed from the house of Caylar.  Just a couple of kilometres from the Canal du Midi, la Provenquière welcomes visitors for wine tasting sessions, organized by the present owners, Claude and Brigitte Robert.

Domaine Pain de Sucre (Capestang)

The Domaine Pain de Sucre, built in the 19th Century by the Bailli de Suffren, stands just a few kilometres from Capestang, beside the Canal du Midi.  Françoise Bousquet's family have been winegrowers since 1855 and she produces fine Languedoc wines which appear regularly in the Hachette wine guide as well as the Gilbert and Gaillard guide.  There is also a self-catering  house to rent for up to 8 people for a delightfully restful holiday in the midst of the vineyards next to the canal du Midi.

Domaine de la Femme Allongée (Puisserguier )

The name of the domaine refers to the Caroux hills which are visible to the North of Puisserguier. Legend has it that Cebenna, the daughter of a Titan, lay down on the Caroux to die and turned to stone. The domaine's vineyards are in the commune of Villespassans, 300 metres above sea-level and the wine is Saint Chinian appellation.  .

At the Domaine de Bel Air, near the protected site of the 'étang' of Capestang (former salt marsh), Patricia and Guy will be happy to receive you for winetasting.  Vanho is an abbreviation of their name, Van Hoonacker as well as the name of the bird featured on their labels.

Their vineyards are very carefully selected with a low yield, using semi-organic methods which give wine of exceptional quality.

Domaine de  Gabelas's vineyards surround the typical Languedoc house and stretch as far as the garrigue.  The terroir is in the Saint Chinian appellation.  Pierrette Cravéro  first continued, like her parents,  producing wines using traditional methods and the domain's wines are classified as organic since 2005 when she switched to organic methods of agriculture.

Les Terrasses de Gabrielle (Capestang)

The wine cellar is by the metal bridge over the Canal du Midi right next to the port in Capestang.  Most of the Terrasses de Gabriel's wines have Saint Chinian appellation; the vines grow in a stony soil.  Olivier and Fabienne cultivate their vines using a "reasonable" method of agriculture, i.e. in the most natural way possible, using only a very small amount of chemical products and will be happy to let you taste their different wines.
